When Family Values Lead the Way: Gaia Academy Issue 2

A creative board with the message “Family Is Everything,” reflecting Gaia Academy’s commitment to filial piety and building stronger relationships.

At Gaia in Love, we understand a sense of belonging comes from a combination of professional growth and personal. The second issue of Gaia Academy teaches about family values at work which include being respectful, caring and emotionally connected for our business.

Family Values

Chinese family values (孝), which are based around the Confucian principles of filial piety are of prime importance. Here is where this theory applies to the current workplace, it nurtures empathy, patience, and ownership, which in turn contributes to mental health and stronger alliance.

At Gaia in Love we have these values as part of our corporate culture, marrying the ancient wisdom with innovation. We are empowering women by proving living family values can go in line with a successful business, and so boosting social and family value.

Employee Care and Support

If for employees who face stress at home, it can be detrimental to performance and overall well-being. At Gaia in Love, we know how important it is to keep your best employees while preparing them for success. To do that we need to look deeper than superficial benefits.

We’re convinced that this investment in people’s personal lives outside of work makes for a stronger, more resilient team inside work. Our team is filled with people that have real lives and real responsibilities, like aging parents to take care of and kids to raise. In recognizing those roles, we also make it clear that our dedication doesn’t end when the workday does.

For major holidays each year, we send thoughtful, high-quality gifts to employees’ families. Here’s the thing though, these are more than symbolic gifts – they’re a way for us to say thank you and show appreciation for the people behind our employees.

This constant care is what creates a strong family culture. It is also an ingredient in terms of staff retention, engagement and, indeed, satisfaction and loyalty. In the end, care becomes ingrained in the company’s D.N.A., and that drives stronger team performance and outcomes. It also supports a vibrant organizational culture in which top talent wants to remain and develop.

Culture and Values

Gaia Academy is more than a corporation training meeting. It is a symbol of our deeper and higher commitment to company culture and values. These are values that are rooted in respect, empathy and purpose.

We discuss topics such as filial piety in today’s society, mental health, and emotional wellness. This way of life creates a world where care and ambition are not in opposition, but in alliance.

This alignment is in service to our larger mission of Family Values at Work. We educate and employees and women with knowledge and understanding and values. This contributes to creating a work environment where innovation and empathy go hand in hand.

Finally

We believe that companies will sustainably and meaningfully grow when they invest in their people. And that growth is good for families, it’s good for women, it’s good for workers, and moreover, it creates a brighter future.
